Sikandar Makers Trim 14 Minutes After CBFC Approval

After the CBFC approval, the much-awaited Salman Khan starrer Sikandar has undergone major cuts. On March 21st, the Sikandar had an initial run as it was approved to run for 150.08 minutes (2 hours, 30 minutes, and 8 seconds). The makers themselves had trimmed 14 minutes and 28 seconds off the final version, shortening the film to 135.47 minutes (2 hours, 15 minutes, and 47 seconds).

What Was Trimmed in Sikandar?

Several scenes in the film were shortened during the trimming process. There were 26 scenes that were affected, 4 longer than 1 minute. Notable cuts include:

  • A 2-minute 26-second scene with the dialogue “Chaar miss call…chalo Rajkot.”
  • A 4-minute scene with the line “Aa gaye aa gaye…bad husband.”
  • A 1-minute 12-second scene with the dialogue “Usse leke aata hoon.”

Moreover, Sanjay (Salman Khan) singing Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh was shortened by 11 seconds, and a Holi sequence was cut by 40 seconds.

CBFC Approval

The filmmakers then informed the CBFC of the changes made after these. The Board gave the final version of the film its seal of approval on March 24, and the film was set to go on sale on March 30. The filmmakers filmed the cuts voluntarily with an eye toward a shorter viewing experience.

Finally, Sikandar’s final version will be 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 47 seconds, allowing for a cleaner cinematic experience for audiences.
