The action-packed entertainer Jaat, starring Sunny Deol, has taken fans by storm. But beyond the box office numbers lies an unexpected twist involving Zee Studios. While the trailer released on March 24 featured Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory as producers, Zee Studios’ name only surfaced after April 1, leaving moviegoers puzzled.
Zee Studios Joins Jaat Post-Trailer Launch

Initially absent from promotions, Zee Studios began pushing Jaat from April 2 on its social media platforms. The surprise deepened when audiences spotted the Zee Studios logo in the theatrical release. Contrary to assumptions, Zee Studios did not distribute the film—Anil Thadani’s AA Films handled that. So what led to Zee’s late entry?
Sunny Deol Secures ₹65 Crores for Mythri Movie Makers
According to industry insiders, Jaat’s co-producer, Mythri Movie Makers, needed a financial boost. Sunny Deol, leveraging his strong rapport with Zee Studios (thanks to Gadar and Gadar 2), stepped in. On his recommendation, Zee Studios agreed to lend ₹65 crores. In return, Mythri mortgaged the Hindi rights of their 2025-2026 films and added Zee as a co-producer.
Jaat Opens Strong in Cinemas

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat features a stellar cast—Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, and Saiyami Kher. The story revolves around a mysterious man challenging the tyranny of a dreaded criminal in a lawless land. Released on April 10, the film opened impressively at ₹9.62 crores.
The bond between Zee Studios and Sunny Deol is only getting stronger. The actor is already lined up for Baap and the highly anticipated Gadar 3, both backed by Zee.
