After months of speculation and multiple delays, the highly anticipated Don 3 is finally set to begin shooting in September 2025. The third installment of the popular action franchise will feature Ranveer Singh in the titular role, taking over from Shah Rukh Khan, who played Don in the 2006 reboot and its 2011 sequel. Ranveer Singh and Vikrant Massey Lead Don 3
Ranveer Singh’s casting initially sparked mixed reactions among fans, who were divided about whether he could match Shah Rukh Khan’s memorable portrayal. However, the teaser released in 2023 featuring Ranveer helped win over many viewers by promising a fresh and modern take on the franchise. Alongside Ranveer, Vikrant Massey will play the antagonist, marking the first time the two actors will face off directly on screen.

While Ranveer and Vikrant have shared screen space before in films like Lootera (2013) and Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), Don 3 will be their first film to feature a direct conflict between their characters. Sources say the film will include high-octane, stylised action sequences, including thrilling bike chases and intense confrontations. Vikrant Massey, known for his realistic and nuanced roles, is expected to surprise fans with a bold new avatar in the film.
Don 3 Production Schedule and Delays
The production faced delays primarily due to Farhan Akhtar’s prior commitments, including his directorial project 120 Bahadur, which is now nearing completion. Ranveer Singh has also finished most of his shooting for Dhurandar, freeing his schedule to focus on Don 3. According to industry insiders, the first shooting schedule will start in September 2025, with Vikrant Massey joining Ranveer on set for an exciting start.
With its blend of strong performances, gripping storyline, and dynamic action, Don 3 is poised to be a thrilling addition to the franchise and is highly anticipated by fans nationwide.
