After a three-year hiatus post Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is all set to make a powerful comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by RS Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame, this much-anticipated drama is scheduled for a theatrical release by the end of May 2025.
A Spiritual Successor to Taare Zameen Par
Touted as a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 classic movie the upcoming film pivots from the struggles of childhood learning disabilities to the lives of adult men with intellectual disabilities. Sitaare Zameen Par explores how the power of sports helps these individuals discover their identity and purpose in life.
Special Song Featuring Genelia Deshmukh
While plot specifics remain under wraps, a recent report by Mid-Day revealed that a special song featuring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh was recently shot in Marol, Mumbai. Directed by RS Prasanna and choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, the five-day shoot is said to have produced a “feel-good” track, possibly appearing as a montage during the film’s credits.
Post-Production and Promotion Plans
The film, which also includes Taare Zameen Par actor Darsheel Safary, is currently in its final post-production stages. Sources say Aamir Khan plans to launch the promotional campaign in early May. Given the emotional weight of the film’s message, Aamir aims to position Sitaare Zameen Par with sensitivity and purpose.
