This announcement by the Heart of London Business Alliance kickstarts the 30-year celebration of DDLJ—one of the most beloved Hindi films of all time.

Set to be unveiled this Spring, the statue captures the iconic pose of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the film’s legendary lead pair. This sculpture is more than just a tribute to the film—it’s a celebration of the influence of Bollywood on global pop culture, especially among the over five million British South Asians who hold Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge close to their hearts.

The statue will be placed outside the Odeon Cinema on the eastern terrace as part of the ‘Scenes in the Square’ movie trail, joining legends like Harry Potter, Mr. Bean, Mary Poppins, and Batman. This is the first-ever Indian film statue at Leicester Square, making it a proud moment for Indian cinema on a global stage.
