The Ayyappanum Koshiyum, a Malayalam blockbuster, will make its way to Bollywood with a Hindi remake with John Abraham playing a producer and a star in the new one. Abraham is collaborating with director Prosit Roy for this exciting new project five years after acquiring the Hindi remake rights of the 2020 action thriller.
A Gripping Two-Hero Ayyappanum Koshiyum

It will be the Hindi remake that focuses on the string of friends ego clashes between a wealthy, influential ex-hawaldar and an honest police officer, as in the original. Roy has been working with Abraham for several months to perfect the script, featuring the gripping thriller of action, suspense, and a strong storyline.
It has helped the Malayalam version turn into a hit. Roy will turn out with two theatrical features after the emotional supernatural thriller Pari in 2018.
A Long Road to Development
JA Entertainment, Abraham’s production banner, has been working on the project for over 4 years. Initially it was Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan who were all set to feature in the film, and Jagan Shakti was set to helm the movie.
But owing to the issue of scheduling, Bachchan withdrew from the cast, and Arjun Kapoor was signed to join him. But, given this, the film was delayed for Abraham because she didn’t think the script truly captured the spirit of the original. And after months of work refining, they have chosen Roy to direct.
Filming and Release Plans
Abraham, whose current project with Rohit Shetty is only just beginning to conclude, is reported to begin shooting for this highly anticipated remake in the final quarter of 2025.
The Amazon Prime series currently in the air, the one hosted by Prosit Roy, will also come to its conclusion. This new momentum allows fans to anticipate Bollywood’s offering of Ayyappanum Koshiyum very soon.
