In the last 3 to 4 years, Pickleball has witnessed a remarkable rise in popularity in India. Mumbai alone has seen the number of Pickleball courts skyrocket from 15 to an impressive 250 in just a year. The sport’s unique ability to build a sense of community has attracted individuals of all ages, making it particularly popular among those aged 35-plus and 50-plus.

Founded by Hemal Jain, Divyesh Jain, Suresh Bhansali, and Niraj Jain, Global Sports has been championing Pickleball in India for the past two years. The addition of Shashank Khaitan and Meghashrey Founder, Seema Singh, as partners in 2023 marked a turning point, leading to increased promotion and investment in the Pickleball ecosystem. Yudi Ruia’s partnership further strengthened the team, bringing international exposure and corporate connections.
Karan Johar, a cultural icon known for his contributions to films, fashion, and entertainment, takes on the role of brand ambassador. Expressing his excitement, he says, “It’s truly heartening to work with visionaries looking to make the sport a household name. I hope for its meteoric rise and eventual inclusion in the Olympics.”

The Indian Open 2024 tournament is scheduled at NSCI Dome from February 7th to February 11th.
