Raid 2 is the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 movie Raid. It is still nine months away, but the makers have now set a new release date. Featuring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor, the movie was scheduled to hit theatres in November this year. However, after the recent modifications, the new release date has been moved to February 21, 2025.
Raid 2 Plot and Cast Details
Ajay Devgn appears again with the same specific character of Income Tax Officer Amay Patnaik, who is very specific in their fight against a corrupt society. This second instalment is expected to offer a new plot in which Ajay Devgn has to fight against Deshmukh’s character. Vaani Kapoor and Rajat Kapoor are also part of this much-anticipated movie. The filmmaker who has returned with the sequel echoes an even more engaging storyline and powerful performances.
Director’s Insight
Rajkumar Gupta, who has recently worked with Riteish Deshmukh on the Pill web series, is excited about the idea of sharing screen space with him again in Raid 2. About Deshmukh’s negative role, Gupta tactfully remains mum but promises that the audience will be in for thrills and raw action. The director pointed out that he would provide more details about the movie at the start of the advertisement campaign.
Raid 2 Production and Release
Most of the shooting has taken place in Delhi and Lucknow, giving the movie a rich texture. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the new release date along with the film’s announcement poster. To the marked surprise of fans, Raid 2 will be formally released in theatres on February 21, 2025.
