Taapsee Pannu Announces Completion of Shooting for ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’; Netflix Release Expected in 2nd Quarter of 2024

Acclaimed Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, known for her diverse roles, recently shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in the movie Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film was a box office hit, earning Rs. 454.90 crore worldwide. Pannu’s next project is the sequel to Haseen Dillruba, titled Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, where she will be seen with Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill. The filming has concluded and the movie is set to release in 2024.

Pannu shared insights about the sequel to Haseen Dilruba, stating, “The shooting of the film is complete. It’s currently in the post-production phase. Netflix will announce the release date soon.”

The original Haseen Dillruba, released on Netflix in 2021, starred Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. The sequel’s filming wrapped up in December 2023. Kanika Dhillon, the writer of the film, posted pictures from the wrap-up party expressing her gratitude towards the team.

The sequel, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, directed by Jayprad Desai, known for Kaun Praveen Tambe, is being filmed in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Along with the lead pair, Vikrant and Taapsee, Sunny Kaushal will be the third lead, similar to Harshvardhan Rane in the first part.

Previously, Arjun Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan were considered for roles, but it didn’t materialize. On January 11, Pannu unveiled the first poster on her social media, hinting at the return of her character, Hasseen Dillruba.

Phir Se Haseen Dilruba is penned and co-produced by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Jayprad Desai. The producers include Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. The film is a Colour Yellow Production.

In terms of future projects, Taapsee Pannu will be seen in the comedy-drama film, Woh Ladki Hai Kahan, written and directed by Arshad Syed. The film also features Pratik Gandhi and Prateik Babbar.
